This is what the deck looks like from below -- the siding has been removed for a couple of weeks already so we could slide strongbacks (2x6s) between the trusses, from the outside. We need to put green (pressure) treated 2x10s between the deck joists and the house now. This serves two purposes: to cover the holes on the house rather than having to reinstall the siding, and more importantly, to have a solid place to attach the deck to the house (the way it should have been done in the first place, but that's another issue..)
