Now that the soffit is out, we need to create a new header and sill for the new window. Ron let us borrow his scaffold trailer for the task, and even came over to help us get started!

The window opening will be moving to the west (right, from an interior perspective) three inches, and the opening will be three inches wider as well. We're going to keep the king stud/cripple on the left in place, and just add two more cripple studs, for simplicity.

(A king stud is the full-height stud that the header attaches to at its end, and the cripple stud(s) is attached to the king stud and supports half of the header's weight on one end.)
