While we continue to stain and poly the window this week and wait for the hopefully good-weathered weekend, we need to have a new sub-project. Since the downstairs bathroom is finally done (save the trivial baseboards), we can finally rip up the upstairs bathroom.
Everything is coming out, including the vanity (out-dated and ugly), sinktop (even worse), toilet (doesn't work very well), bathtub (most of the tub floor is worn), tile (hideous, in our opinion), and vinyl floor (we're going to tile, and we need to put a second layer of flooring down anyway).
When we ordered the kitchen cabinets, they had bathroom vanities for very decent prices, so we decided to get one that matches. Tim mistakenly ordered a 48" instead of 42". We then had the option of returning it with a restocking fee, but once we pulled out the vanity, we realized how ridiculously out-of-square the closet wall was. So we decided that we'll use the 48" vanity, and rip out the closet (it opens the room up a lot anyway!). We also found an awesome deal on a clearanced gray Kohler bathtub at Home Depot that we're going to use. |
